About Us
Readability Center has been implementing educational programs that improve the literacy needs of children and adolescents since 2005. The Center provides services to improve literacy learning regardless of one’s learning condition. The reading remediation program is anchored on the individual’s needs based on formal or informal reading and language assessment results. Teaching strategies are informed by relevant research. Also, the Center is not limited to one particular teaching approach.
In 2016, Readability Center introduced the Literacy Skills Development (LSD) programs. These programs intend to provide continuous development of literacy skills from Pre-K to Grade 10. The LSD programs are designed to be aligned with the K-12 curriculum of the Department of Education. Students are grouped as they learn to listen, speak, read, and write using authentic and appropriate literature. They are taught effective comprehension strategies in reading narrative and expository (Science, Social Studies, and Math) texts. They also learn how to write based on these texts.
Readability Center is at the following locations: Quezon City, Marikina City, City of San Fernando (Pampanga), Cabuyao, and Naga City.
MISSION
Listen, speak, read, and write are the cognitive skills involving literacy that Readability Center develops among children and adolescents. As Filipino students learn more than one language in their lifetime, they must proficiently function in the literacy skills in the languages they use.
Bridging literacies entails Readability Center’s commitment to developing the students’ literacies in one language and bridging them to learning Filipino and English.
Serving communities captures Readability Center’s mission of nation building through literacy instruction.
VISION
Readability Center provides expert support to individuals, families, and institutions for independent, effective, and meaningful lifelong learning.
